A group of thought leaders realized the adverse effects of poor competence of employees, skill shortage in the industry, and its after-effects, especially in the developing countries. They realized that poor competence due to skill shortage is the main barrier to increased productivity and sustainability. They also acknowledged that the existing traditional educational system in most developing countries is inadequate to supply the required skills to the students. The leaders felt the need for industry familiarization to the students before they commence their essential roles. The above understanding lead us to form the International Board of Skill & development with representation from all continents.
